Access College (Zoom presentation)
Wednesday, September 30th, 6:00pm to 7:15pm
“All students have a right to attend college -- regardless of their socio-economic status, race, gender, and beliefs.”
The College and Career Center (CCC) at Mt. Diablo High School would like to introduce a very special program on our campus, Destination College Advising Corps (DCAC). DCAC increases college access for low-income, first generation, and underrepresented high school students by providing a number of services and support to our students such as college planning, regular academic check-ins, test preparation, financial aid workshops, college information workshops, and virtual drop-in advising sessions. DCAC works collaboratively with the College and Career Center and Counseling Department to ensure that your student has all the support he/she needs to be college bound.
During the presentation, we will hear from the 9th grade academic counselor Mr. Rodda, who will speak briefly about staying on top of your grades and, if you are struggling, how to find available resources. We will also do a brief overview of A-G requirements for college admissions, which will lead into our introduction of DCAC. We will finish the presentation with a brief Q&A session.
