Land Acknowledgement

The Student Body and Faculty of Mount Diablo High wish to acknowledge that this place where we
gather to learn each day is on the traditional lands of the Miwok people, Bay Miwok and Plains Miwok,
The Confederated Tribes of Lisjan, Ohlone, Karkin, Delta Yokut, Wappo, and Napian (Patwin) tribes, past
and present. We honor them with gratitude for stewarding this land throughout the generations.
Let it remind us all to be better stewards of this land we inhabit.

These tribes were decimated by genocide and forced from their ancestral lands. For resources to learn
about these noble people, please see the links below. Consider the ways you might support their efforts
to preserve their culture, languages and religion.

Please consider a donation to help local tribes buy back land and create spaces for Indigenous People.
