Youth Ride Free June and July 2025 with County Connection
County Connection’s Youth Ride Free pilot program will provide free rides on all County Connection bus routes for youth up to 18 years old from June 1 through July 31, 2025. Young riders can board the bus without needing an application or special pass, making it easy to access public transit.
The purpose of the Youth Ride Free program is to help youth become more familiar with public transit and encourage ongoing bus use, while also providing insight for County Connection to learn where its youth riders want to go.
Goals of the Youth Ride Free Program
During June and July 2025, the Youth Ride Free program is focused on the following goals:
Enhance Mobility: Allow young people to travel freely and with confidence.
Access Vital Resources: Support youth in reaching places such as libraries, parks, shopping centers, and summer job opportunities.
Reduce Social Isolation: Promote peer connections and increase understanding of how to use public transit.
Understand Travel Patterns: Provide County Connection with information about how youth travel to help improve transit services.
Although previous efforts like the Summer Youth Pass (discontinued) and Pass2Class offered incentives to encourage youth transit use, youth ridership has remained steady. This pilot program aims to re-engage youth riders and offer a new approach to public transit access.
Pass2Class Applications for the 2025/2026 school year open July 7th.
What is Pass2Class?
