What is the PSAT/NMSQT?
The Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT/NMSQT® (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), is a practice version of the SAT exam. If you earn a high score on the PSAT your junior year, you could qualify to receive a National Merit Scholarship—$180 million dollars in merit scholarships are awarded to students each year.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The PSAT/NMSQT is typically administered every year in October.
- While both 10th and 11th grade students can take test, only 11th grade students are eligible for the National Merit Scholarship.
- The PSAT's total score range is 320-1520.
Do You Require Accommodations?
Before a student can take certain exams—PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, SAT, or AP Exams—with accommodations, they must request the accommodations and be approved by College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities.
**Please indicate your request in the Google Form when registering. Mr. Brown will contact you.**
